Rental Cabins For Sale in Alaska on Prince of Wales Island

Cabins in Alaska® for sale on Prince of Wales Island just west of Ketchikan, Alaska

Overview:

Prince of Wales Island – Lot 35, Harris River Subdivision – 2.7 acres.

Cabins in Alaska® was begun in 2002 with the clearing of lot 35 (2.7 acre parcel) in the Harris River Subdivision on the east side of Prince of Wales Island.

Cabins in Alaska® is 5.7 miles west of the Hollis ferry terminal, where the ferry arrives from Ketchikan. Another 17 miles west is the town of Klawock and 8 miles further is the town of Craig, on the western side of the island.

Cabins In Alaska’s business is focused on summer vacationers who fish, hunt, and sight-see. Rentals are by the day, week, month or entire summer season; for convenience, islanders and vacationers stay at the cabins the night prior to the 8 AM morning ferry departure to Ketchikan. Many vacationers take the ferry from Hollis to Ketchikan in order to insure they make their flight connections from Ketchikan; inclimate weather grounds float plane returns and the ferry offers the security of a fixed return schedule.

Cabins in Alaska® is the only business on the east side of the island near the ferry terminal that offers lodging with any capacity (17 – 24 people depending upon sleeping arrangements).

The season is currently May through early September. Business and government employees from Ketchikan, Juneau, and upstate also stay. The winter (school) season has not yet been targeted.

The “Cabins” sleep 4 to 6 people while the “Bunkhouses” sleep 2 to 4.
